Canterbury Cemetery Map Project
 
 

In spring 2007, the Canterbury Historical Society began a project to research and produce a map of cemeteries in Canterbury. Starting with a circa 1930s topographical map showing approximate cemetery locations, with the help of the Canterbury Cemetery Association we are working to confirm the locations of known cemeteries; if possible, to identify previously undocumented ones; and to list the various alternative names by which some cemeteries have been known over the years. Eventually, we will transfer the information to a modern road/street map and make it available on our website. We are grateful to volunteer Rob Barcomb for donating his time and enthusiasm.
