One-Room Green District School Open for Connecticut's Annual Open House Day

2010 Open House Day logo

Help celebrate Connecticut's 375th anniversary. Join the state-wide party day on June 12, when museums, historic sites, and other cultural gems across Connecticut open their doors and invite you in for annual Open House Day.

Drop in and have a look at the wonderful restoration by the Canterbury Historical Society of the 19th century Green District School, the only one of Canterbury's historic one-room district school houses open to the public.

Bring the kids and let them discover what school was like for those who came before them. Your prospects are good for even being able to chat with a volunteer who attended a one-room school in Canterbury.

Free and open to the public. For more information on Open House Day statewide, see http://www.ct.gov/cct/cwp/view.asp?a=2128&q=411748.
