Mary Muller on Natural Disasters in Connecticut
Our speaker, Mary Muller of the Connecticut Historical Society, will lead an illustrated exploration of "Natural Disasters in Connecticut." Following an introduction covering the broad context of the types and frequency of natural disasters in Connecticut's history, the program will shift, using photographs from Connecticut Historical Society's collection, to focus on four of the most severe: 1) the Blizzard of 1888; 2) the Flood of 1936; 3) the Hurricane of 1938; and 4) the 1955 Hurricane and Flood.
Our meetings are free and open to the public. You are cordially invited to attend; you don't have to be a member to participate. |
