John Romanoff Shows & Narrates His Father William's Old Movies of Canterbury
In the early to mid-1940s, Canterbury resident William Romanoff used his movie camera to document a bit of life around town: district schools, gas stations, the hoop shop, and construction of the Dr. Helen Baldwin School (by town residents!). Mr. Romanoff probably never imagined his little "silent movies" would be so interesting to us nearly 70 years later, but thanks to his son, John, we have the opportunity to see these films at the April Canterbury Historical Society meeting. Join us for a look at Canterbury's past, with John Romanoff narrating.

Free and open to the public. You do not have to be a member to attend. Bring a friend and stay for refreshments. |
